Simon Hodgkinson’s research traverses the boundary between meteorology and engineering, with a specific focus on the resilience of infrastructure systems to weather and climate hazards. This research adopts a multidisciplinary approach, advancing our understanding of the complex interactions between infrastructure service performance, system user behaviour, and both day-to-day and ‘extreme’ weather patterns.

  • 2014-2019, PhD Civil Engineering, University of Birmingham
  • 2012-2013, MSc Applied Meteorology and Climatology, University of Birmingham
  • 2009-2012. BSc Geography, University of Birmingham

Simon is involved with teaching and assessment of the following undergraduate and masters modules:

  • GGM314 Applied Micrometeorology
