History and Cultures welcomed Professor David Graeber (LSE) to Birmingham.

He is renowned for his work on the social functioning of debt throughout history, engagement with the Occupy Movement in North America and beyond, and more recently for promulgating the theory of “bullshit jobs”. In doing so he has become one of the foremost representatives of his discipline in the public eye and a noted commentator on current affairs.
