Marcelo completed their Licence in Law in 2016 after studying comparative, international and public law at the University of Coimbra, the Federal and State University of Rio de Janeiro and the University of Strasbourg. They were a EU Erasmus Mundus Scholar at the Autonomous University of Barcelona, the University of Venice, and the University of Montpellier III before joining Birmingham Law School in 2018.
Marcelo has previously worked with constitutional litigation, international arbitration and EU policy-making on migration in Brazil, Portugal and Brussels.
