Dr Pablo Grez is a Research Associate at the COVID-19 Review Observatory (CVRO), a research project led by Professor Fiona de Londras, and funded by the Arts and Humanities Research Council. His research focuses on parliamentary review of the government’s responses to COVID in the three devolved nations, Scotland, Northern Ireland and Wales.

Biography

Pablo currently works as a research associate at the COVID Review Observatory, a research project led by Professor Fiona de Londras, and funded by the Arts and Humanities Research Council.

He is also a tutor in Public Law at the University of Edinburgh, has been a guest seminar lecturer at the University of Edinburgh, and is a guest lecturer in constitutional law at Universidad Adolfo Ibáñez.

Pablo previously worked as research assistant at the Edinburgh Centre for Constitutional Law at the University of Edinburgh (2020), and as an early career fellow (“adjunct lecturer”) at Universidad Adolfo Ibáñez (2010-11). He taught courses on human rights and jurisprudence for undergraduates. Later, he taught human rights as part-time lecturer (2013).

Pablo also has experience as a legal practitioner. He worked as legal advisor at the Legal Department of the General Secretariat of the Presidency (2008-10), on constitutional and administrative law matters. Then, as legal advisor to the Dean and Vice Dean of the University of Chile Law School (2010), and as an associate lawyer at Harasic y López (2011-14), a boutique law firm specialised on complex civil and criminal litigation.

Research

My main research interest is in non judicial institutional arrangements of constitutional and legal protection, including both internal legality checks at government, and parliamentary review on constitutional grounds. More broadly, I am interested in public law and comparative constitutional law.
