Biography

After completing my BA in French and Spanish at the University of Southampton (2011-2015), I completed an MSt in Spanish at the University of Oxford (2015-16). After five years working in publishing and at a translation agency, I returned to academia in 2021 to start my PhD on Spanish exemplary short fiction at the University of Birmingham.

Research

My project examines the 17th and 18th-century editorial history of Spanish exemplary short fiction (ESF), in order to understand better the 'afterglow' of Cervantes' Novelas ejemplares (1613) on the genre, and on the relationship between editorial practice and the concepts of censorship, exemplarity and canonicity.
