Biography

With over 17 years of statutory social work experience as social worker and manager, she currently holds the post of Programme Leader and Senior Lecturer on the undergraduate programme in Social Work with the University of Northampton.  She has also taught on the undergraduate programme in social work with the Open University.

Research

Her thesis examines how South Asian and White women are perceived socially and legally in the UK when they are convicted or act as accomplices to the murder of children.

Her other research interests include social work interventions and responses when working with women who murder or are accomplices to the murder of children; social work practice learning and teaching; equality and diversity in higher education; student experiences on social work programmes, experiences of BME staff who teach on social work programmes.
