I am a Teaching Associate in Spanish at the University of Birmingham and a Postgraduate Researcher in Modern Languages at Aston University, where I currently hold a fully funded PhD scholarship from the School of Languages and Social Sciences.
I graduated with a double BA in Translation Studies and Tourism from the University of Granada. Prior to this, I earned a BA in Communication Studies from the Open University of Catalonia. In 2014 I was granted Qualified Teaching Status (QTS) in the UK and Spain after completing a Postgraduate Certificate in Education specializing in Modern Languages. I am also accredited by the Instituto Cervantes as an official examiner of Spanish for all levels.
Before accepting my current position at the University of Birmingham in 2018, I taught at Cardiff University (2016-2017), the Alfonso X El Sabio University (2015-2016) and the University of Massachusetts Amherst (2014-2015). I have also worked as a translator and interpreter (English & French into Spanish) and as a secondary school teacher in Spain and the UK.
