Composer and saxophonist Olivia Murphy’s newly commissioned work for jazz orchestra marks the opening of the University’s latest public space, The Exchange, and responds to the theme ‘The air we breathe’ as part of a year-long programme of public events. Alongside Jazz Orchestra this concert features a number of student small bands from the Music Society's Jazz Collective. This event is presented as part of The Air We Breathe, a brand new public programme at The Exchange bringing together cutting edge research from across the University of Birmingham. From a hydrogen train to a sci-fi forest, discover how the University is delivering clean air both here in Birmingham and around the world.
