19 March, 6pm: Cory Online Contest

With all in person contests this year being cancelled, the brass band world has adapted and created an online contest, led by the Cory band and sponsored by some of the biggest names in brass banding. Tune into the University Section live broadcast on the 19th March to watch a 10 minute set of virtual performances from the University Brass Band, with pieces paying homage to Birmingham and some of its most iconic buildings.

20 March, 4pm: Slow Melody Contest

One of the biggest traditions in the brass band community is the Slow Melody contest, where players demonstrate their musicality and sound with a short performance of a slow melody. The Music Society Brass Band has such a wealth of talented musicians it would be a shame not to give them an opportunity to share it! The event will be taking place online, so watch live as our players perform for the adjudicator Stuart Birnie and showcase their musicianship!
