Professor Scott Wilson Inaugural lecture

I was always not never doing the same thing again… 

In his Inaugural lecture Professor Scott Wilson reflects upon his decades as a creative practitioner whose work in music and sound art has explored the intersection of a variety of different and sometimes contradictory practices. Combining aspects of instrumental/vocal composition, field recording, immersive multichannel electroacoustic sound and visuals, cross-cultural collaboration, live coding, network music, and improvisation, his works are each a bespoke solution to a unique artistic problem.

Along the way he will touch upon the perhaps problematic notion of style and continuity in 21st century experimental music practice, and upon the sometimes contested place of creative arts within an academic research culture.
