Two people looking at box of records

Following the Archives Live event at the University of Birmingham in March this year, True Form Projects continues its journey into the sounds of their South Asian vinyl archive - exploring and sharing its deep-rooted connections to the communities it represents.

Join us to listen to records and diasporic stories spanning decades, as we engage in conversations with individuals about their personal relationships to the archive’s music. The event will feature translations of stories and songs that weave through themes of relationships, community, migration, and the socio-political changes, turbulence, and resistance experienced by South Asian communities.

We will be in-conversation with 3 individuals including artists Haseebah Ali and Seema Mattu - exploring relationships with music alongside recordings from our own interviews, with translations of some of the songs and records, what it means to them and their memories.

Presented in partnership with University of Birmingham supported by Aspire and ERC-QR funding
