Arooje was attracted to Birmingham because of its diverse population and because of the University's great reputation with employers. 

What made you apply to study Nursing?

I really enjoy helping people and wanted to pursue a career in which I could make a valuable input to society.

What do you enjoy most about being a student here?


I love how much support there is her, and also the access to all facilities; educational and leisure. There are also lots of opportunities to develop as a person and gain extra knowledge.

What are the best parts about the course?

Well integrated with theory and practice going hand in hand.

What advice would you give to perspective students looking to study this course at Birmingham?

Go for it! It’s a great place to live and study and you will be offered lots of support. The course is amazing and really rewarding when you go out onto placement and make a difference.

What do you like most about the city?

I like how there’s pretty much everything in Birmingham. It’s diverse, transport is easily accessible, great place to shop, and lots of things to spend your free time on. You won’t get bored.

If you could sum up your time at the university to date in three words, what would they be?

Great Fun, Rollercoaster

What are you plans for after you graduate?

Hopefully remain in Birmingham and get a job here. 

What advice would you give to your first year self?

Don’t be shy and go out and talk to people. Everyone’s in the same boat as you and just as nervous, so get out there and enjoy your first year!
