ESRC grant awarded to study how eating with others affects appetite

Professor Suzanne Higgs from the University of Birmingham, together with Professor Jeff Brunstrom from the University of Bristol and Associate Professor Lenny Vartanian from the University of New South Wales, Australia, have been awarded an ESRC Grant worth £500K for a project that aims to understand how eating with other people affects appetite.

A delayed neurological response to processing the written word could be an indicator that a patient with mild memory problems is at an increased risk of developing Alzheimer's disease, research led by the University of Birmingham has discovered.

£1M BBSRC grant awarded to study how aging influences sense of touch
Description
Professor Alan Wing, together with Dr Massimiliano Di Luca, and Dr Roberta Roberts from the University of Birmingham and Dr Harriet Allen from the University of Nottingham, have been awarded a BBSRC Grant worth £1 million for a project that aims to understand how aging influences tactile surface perception in decision and action.
