Shana is conducting her doctoral research on how services can be improved for men and women who have experienced domestic abuse. She is using qualitative methodologies to interview domestic abuse service-users, representatives of the police force, and representatives from domestic abuse organizations. The study will take an Experience-Based Co-Design approach of service development.

  • BA Education (major) and General Studies (minor)

Biography

Shana is the recipient of a MA in Mental Health Counseling as well as a MA in Special Education from which she graduated Summa Cum Laude. Between her Masters and current PhD research she worked as a Program Supervisor in a behavioral health organization.

Other activities

Shana attends Toastmasters International, which is an international organization that focuses on public speaking and leadership skills. In the past, she also served as a Vice-President of Membership for Einstein Toastmasters.
