Title of PhD: Sleep in children with intellectual disabilities and genetic syndromes
Supervisors: Professor Chris Oliver, Mary Heald
Jayne Trickett is undertaking doctoral research into sleep disturbances in children with intellectual disabilities and genetic syndromes and is funded by Cerebra. She is using qualitative and questionnaire measures with parents to investigate the nature of sleep problems in these children, and how they impact on children and their families. She will also be using objective measures to assess the quality of the children’s sleep.
Jayne has interviewed families of children with Angelman syndrome at a conference in the USA for her first study.
