Title of PhD: Social and emotional functioning in adolescents with autistic spectrum disorders and conduct disorder

Supervisors: Dr Amanda Ludlow, Dr Renate Reniers and Professor Ian Apperly

I am doing a PhD focusing on the empathic and socio-emotional functioning of individuals with autism spectrum disorders and conduct disorder. I am also interested in the cultural differences between Spanish and British individuals regarding their socio-emotional capacities.

Biography

I graduated in 2011 from University of Comillas in Spain with a 5 years degree in Psychology. As part of my BSc, I worked at the psychology unit of Court Police (Spain), investigating indirect methods to evaluate personality traits of people implicated in criminal offences. Since 2012, I have been working as a doctoral researcher at the University of Birmingham. My PhD research focuses on the empathic and socio-emotional functioning of individuals with autism spectrum disorders and conduct disorder. Additionally, I am comparing the empathic and socio-emotional capacities of Spanish and British individuals.

Conduct, personality, and developmental disorders, socio-emotional deficits in clinical populations, empathy.

Other activities

I am working as a mentor for psychology students and also for students considering the university in Spain.

I am part of the TA scheme at the School of Psychology.
