In the latest of the HSMC at 50 Seminars, Former Analysis Director for the NHS Modernisation Agency Mike Davidge takes a look at the causes of waiting lists and explores solutions available to practitioners.

NHS waiting lists are back in the frame post-Covid, although they have never really gone away.  Despite real success in reducing waiting times in the early 2000's, the science behind why queues form is poorly understood in the NHS.  This webinar will show you how to diagnose the causes of waits and enable you to make better decisions about tackling them.  And it is not always about more money or staff!

Throughout 2022, we are celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Health Services Management Centre at the University of Birmingham. This is 50 years of being one of the UK’s foremost centres for research and evaluation, teaching and professional development for health and social care organisations. 50 years of being a “critical friend” of the healthcare community and striving to bridge the gap between research and practice.
