Group of people, some with disabilities

The event will bring together researchers, educators, voluntary and community organisations and people with lived experience of drawing on social care services.

Participants will be invited to share their experiences of participatory research. It will be a chance to get to know each other, share issues and dilemmas, and create a space for mutual support and learning. The project defines social care in the broadest sense as ‘supporting people to do the things they value and enjoy’.

The event is being co-run by the University of Birmingham, Co-Production Works and the Birmingham Voluntary Service Council (BVSC).

The event will take place in-person, at Park House (G19 on the campus map) at the the University of Birmingham.  Local travel expenses and access costs can be covered.  Additional financial support to attend the event may be available for people who draw on care services.  If this applies to you, please enquire when booking.
