Council Member 2011-, First5 Clinical Lead 2009-13, Chair of the Associates in Training Committee 2008-9 Royal College of General Practitioners:
I wrote the original papers which were endorsed by RCGP Council about the First5 concept when I was Chair of the Associates in Training (AiT) committee in 2008-9. I subsequently worked as First5 Clinical Lead and Continuing Professional Development Fellow from 2009-13. I worked with RCGP colleagues to set up the First5 initiative and embed it into the structure of the College. I also examined the educational needs of GPs within their first five years after GP training and develop CPD materials to support these educational needs. I am now an elected member of RCGP Council.
Member of Executive Committee, Society of Academic Primary Care 2010-13: I represented early career researchers on the Executive Committee of SAPC.
Member, Working Party for Women in Family Medicine, World Organisation of Family Doctors: I have been an active member of this group since 2009 and participated in the women's pre-conference at the WONCA World conference in Cancun Mexico in May 2010
Columnist and deputy editor of InnovAiT: I regularly undertook peer-review for the journal while I was an AiT and after I qualified as a GP I wrote a regular column called ‘From the new GP’. I also held the position of deputy editor from 2011-12.
