Biography

My vocation is mainly Chemistry lecturing and research. I was an EPSRC Advanced Fellow at Cardiff University from 1993-1998 and went on to hold Senior Lectureships in Chemistry at the University of Cardiff (1998-2004) where I was Director of the MSc in Molecular Modelling; and at the University of South Australia (2005-2008) where I coordinated the first-year undergraduate Chemistry programmes. I then worked as a Quality Manager in the UK Logistics Industry. I have worked in Poland, in a joint research project with Warsaw University spanning 10 years; and in Germany, where I taught Business English for three years and also worked as a German-English technical translator. These days, I am focused on teaching. I’m a qualified secondary teacher and spent about four years teaching Science in UK secondary schools, followed by four years of teaching Chemistry and Maths on the Pharmacy foundation programme at De Montfort University, Leicester.
