Giacomo Chiodarelli is a PhD student involved in the development of new synthetic inhibitors against decaprenylphosphorylarabinose (DPA) synthesis in Mycobacterium tuberculosis.

Biography

Giacomo Chiodarelli obtained BSc and MSc in Industrial Chemistry at University of Padua (Italy), with a Master thesis in development of pro-drugs of the natural compound pterostilbene. After the graduation he spent one year working in a small company in Padua (Italy) as an analytical chemist.  Then he started his PhD  working at the EU funded project entitled “Coopera TB: Hit to lead optimization of novel anti-TB scaffolds through an academic-industrial partnership”: a joined project between Prof. Gurdyal Besra’s research group at University of Birmingham and GlaxoSmithKline DDW Tres Cantos (Spain).
