Santhilata Kuppili Venkata is a researcher, academic and data scientist. She received her PhD from Kings College London, UK in Computer Science. Her interests are developing practical approaches of data science and machine learning concepts to real life applications.

Biography

Santhilata is currently working as an Honorary Senior Research Fellow at the Birmingham Business School within the College of Social Sciences, University of Birmingham. Prior to joining University of Birmingham, Santhilata was a Digital Archiving Researcher at the National Archives, UK, and a post-doc research associate at the Francis Crick Institute for Cancer Research in London, UK. Her expertise is in developing solution architectures for practical applications. She is also working as a Lead Data Scientist for Animal Friends Insurance Limited.

Santhilata’s research interests are in Data Science, Machine Learning, Distributed Data Transfer Systems, and Optimization. Her doctoral thesis was on developing a collaborative cache framework for distributed databases using multi-agent systems.

During her time with the National Archives, Santhilata conducted active research in developing AI models for the record selection process for archiving text file format identification and contextual search algorithms for email archives.

Santhilata was an assistant professor at higher education technological institutes in India and the UK, teaching courses related to computer science to Undergraduate and Masters degree students.
