Dr Yongli Wang is a Lecturer in the Department of Economics at the Birmingham Business School, which he joined in March 2022. He earned his PhD in Economics from the University of Leicester in 2020 and previously served as a Lecturer at the University of Essex starting in October 2019. During his tenure at Essex, he held key administrative leadership roles as the Deputy Director of both Undergraduate and PGT projects.

Currently serving as the Economics Exchange Tutor at Birmingham Business School, Dr Wang’s research interests include time-series forecasting under uncertainty, structural breaks, and inflation modeling. He has published work in leading journals, including the European Economic Review, the Journal of International Money and Finance, and the Journal of Forecasting. As an HEA Fellow, he has been consistently recognized for teaching excellence, receiving multiple Student Choice Award nominations and winning the 2024 Birmingham Business School Student Support Award.
