Sophia Magwaro is the A Team (Adult Cancer Trials) Trial Management Team Leader at the Cancer Research UK Clinical Trials Unit (CRCTU) at the University of Birmingham.

Biography

Sophia Magwaro graduated with a BSc (Hons) Oncology and Radiotherapy Technology from the University of East Anglia. She joined the oncology department at Addenbrookes Hospital as a Treatment Radiographer in 2003 until progressing to the role of Senior I Treatment Planning Radiographer a few years later.

Sophia started working at the Mount Vernon Cancer Centre as a Treatment Radiographer in 2008. She was then appointed as a Radiotherapy Research Radiographer at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust (NIHR Cancer Research Network, North West London) in 2009, where she was responsible for the set-up, recruitment and management of phase I - phase III academic and commercial clinical trials. The radiotherapy portfolio covered solid tumours in all cancer disease sites.

Sophia was appointed the A Team, Trial Management Team Leader at the Cancer Research Clinical Trials Unit in September 2019.
