Thomas Addison is a Senior Clinical Tutor at the School of Dentistry in the Institute of Clinical Sciences. He is responsible for one to one teaching of dental students during patient treatment sessions in Clinical Practice and in Restorative Dentisty. In addition, he is Academic Lead for Year 3 and Deputy Admission Tutor for BDS. Currently he is working towards an MSc in Endodontics at the University of Chester.

Thomas Addison qualified in 1999 from the University of Birmingham with Distinction in Clinical Dentistry and has spent neary 18 years wokring in general practice. He was the first person to attain the then new, MSc in General Dental Practice from the University of Birmingham which was awarded with Distinction in 2006. He also holds the Fellowship of the Faculty of General Dental Practitioners from the Royal College of Surgeons. 

He joined the University staff in 2006, taking up a role as a Clinical Tutor on a part time basis whilst maintaining a busy NHS practice list. As an experienced practitioner he has been able to successfully develop students for future practice in the clinical practice teaching environment. In the early 2017 he left clinical practice completely taking up his current post and now heads up the Restorative Phase component of Clinical Practice and is the Head of Firm 4A.
