Katharine lectures in clinical communication across healthcare programmes in the College, with a main focus on medicine. She has worked with the Interactive Studies Unit (ISU) for over 25 years. As well as teaching and assessing clinical communication, she coaches pre-registration and postgraduate healthcare professionals in communication and related matters.

Biography

Katharine spent 25 years as a freelance in corporate training and running her own business. She has extensive experience in communication and behavioural training, development, coaching and assessment in multiple sectors, including delivering leadership programmes internationally. Throughout this time, she maintained associate status with the Interactive Studies Unit at the University of Birmingham, until she joined as a permanent member of the team in August 2016. She has run the Biomedical Science Birmingham International Summer School for since 2017 for the College of Medical and Dental Sciences and is currently the College lead for Student Experience.
