Kate Straughton is the Programme Director for the PGDip Physician Associate Studies programme and MSc ‘top-up’ for qualified Physician Associates. Kate has significant experience at representing PAs at national level, finishing her role as President of the Faculty of Physician Associates in 2022, but remaining involved in the FPA Education Committee and as a member of the Physician Associate Schools Council

Teaching

Other activities

Kate remains involved in national developments in PA education for both students and qualified PAs. She is an Education Associate for the General Medical Council, supporting quality assurance for PA education across the UK. Kate remains passionate about improving the standard of clinical placements, with a PhD in development around this topic. She also supports the development of the PA profession globally, working closely with colleagues in New Zealand and Canada.
