Asim Abbas received his bachelor's degree in computer science from Islamia University Peshawar, Pakistan, in 2015. He completed a Master's in Computer Science and Engineering from Kyung Hee University, South Korea, in 2020. He worked as a visiting researcher at Halmstad University, Sweden, in 2020. He has also worked as a research scholar at St. Johns University, Queens Campus, New York, USA, from 2021 to 2023 and the leading National Science Foundation (NSF) awarded the project(Award Abstract\#2101350). Where he focused on biomedical semantic content authoring and structured data publishing, biomedical content semantic enrichment in a socio-technical environment while keeping the original content created in the loop. Currently, he is working as a PhD scholar in the School of Computer Science at the University of Birmingham under the supervision of Prof. Mark Lee. He has two years of professional experience in the software industry as a software engineer. Further, his research interests included natural language processing, clinical NLP, semantic web, health informatics, and information retrieval and extraction.
