Nicole was awarded a BSc (Hons) in Psychology and Sociology and subsequently a MA in Sociology. Following this, she worked for a HIV support charity where she was responsible for designing and delivering accredited HIV/AIDS awareness training to a range of audiences including healthcare professionals, social workers and teachers.
In 2011, Nicole embarked upon her current PhD studentship working with Professor Greenfield, Dr Redwood and Dr Drever. The focus of the PhD is on developing novel qualitative methods for engaging seldom heard communities in health research to evaluate whether they have the potential to offer richer understanding of social, cultural and contextual factors that may influence health outcomes.
