I am the Assistant Director HEFi (Digital).  I am responsible for overall leadership, management, and development of the five College based teams who enable effective use of the educational technology in support of learning. Notably (but not exclusively) the use and development of the University’s virtual learning environments and related tools.

I lead a team of business partners responsible for digital education developers who provide specialist support to Academic and Professional Services staff in their use of technology in their research intensive teaching.

The main focus of my role is to:

• Develop and lead on strategies to enhance learning, teaching, and assessment through the appropriate use of technology and pedagogies, working with staff from across HEFi and other key partners to assess the impact and benefit of new and emerging technologies on the learning experience.
• Working with relevant staff from across the University, identify and evaluate emerging learning technologies; provide expert advice on their potential adoption/implementation and impact/benefit on the learning experience though relevant governance structures.
• Lead, manage and support the University’s team of e-learning specialists; continually develop the framework through which they work together to provide a high quality and consistent level of support for teaching and learning.

My specific areas of interest include; supporting the digital facilitation of Personal Academic Tutoring at an institutional level, assessment and feedback technologies for HE and the use of e-Portfolios for learning and assessment.
