Amy has worked at the University of Birmingham as Learning Technologist since 2015 as part of the Digital Education team for the College of Medicine and Health. In this role she has supported academics in the design of online programmes and modules as well as training and supporting on the universities digital learning platforms such as the Virtual Learning Environment (VLE), Lecture Capture software, Portfolio tool and Interactive Polling. In 2018 Amy gained her Associate Fellowship from the HEA (Higher Education Academy). She has also been involved in a number of video projects creating learning resources both filming and editing for CMH, and has recently been involved in the ongoing development of a MOOC. Amy previously worked at the University of Wolverhampton in 2013/14 during her industrial placement year as an e-learning advisor supporting the institutional VLE and Portfolio tool working with academics and students.

Other activities

Amy’s interests include developing more authentic and transparent online assessment and feedback methods and processes. Amy has recently been involved in developing training resources for academics setting up and running online exams and assessment and previously helped develop and run a training workshop for new academics at the university. Other areas of interest include creating interactive learning resources using video or authoring software and also promoting the use of polling software to drive student engagement and improve learning.
