Biography

I joined the University of Birmingham as a research fellow in 2018.

During my doctoral studies I worked as a research associate at the Herder Institute in Marburg. Previously I had been employed as an exhibition researcher at the Memorial and Museum Sachsenhausen.

Research

My current research project (funded by the Fritz Thyssen Stiftung) uses the case study of “The Fight Against the Traffic in Women and Children in Interwar Poland” to investigate on the one hand how far interwar internationalism affected national policymaking and state building and on the other how far national policies shaped activism at the international level. It analyses the role of the international fight against trafficking through international, national and local networks and actors in the process of the construction of an independent Polish state.
