Nia is a supervising solicitor for Birmingham Law School's Pro Bono Group. She has been Senior Lead for Careers and Employability for Birmingham Law School since 2025. She has a particular interest in employment law and pro bono and her teaching focuses on those areas.

Biography

Nia qualified as a solicitor at the Birmingham office of Pinsent Masons, specialising in employment law.  She moved to Burges Salmon in Bristol for a few years, later returning to Pinsent Masons where she became a Senior Associate.  She appeared frequently in the Employment Tribunal although she favoured corporate support work over litigation.  Nia particularly enjoyed delivering client training on employment law issues and so a move into legal education was a natural step for her.  She has taught on the LLB and LPC programmes at the University of Law.  She joined the University of Birmingham in 2021.  Nia leads the Legal Education and the Profession Research Theme within Birmingham Law School.
