Before taking up my current role, I built my career at the University of Birmingham across a range of roles spanning student support, digital experience and strategic projects. I began with advice and guidance, supporting students directly, which gave me a strong understanding of the student journey and the realities of how services are experienced in practice.
I then moved into digital-focused roles, including Digital Experience Manager, where I led efforts to improve how digital platforms support student engagement and service access. Most recently, as a Reputation Projects Manager, I worked on strategic initiatives, collaborating with senior stakeholders to shape and deliver projects aligned to the University’s broader priorities.
Across these roles, I have developed experience in leading digital platform implementations, improving user experience, and working at the intersection of education, technology and communication. I am particularly motivated by bringing clarity to complex areas of work and translating strategic ambition into practical, deliverable outcomes.
I have a strong interest in how digital education can enhance both student and staff experiences, with a focus on effective assessment and feedback, accessibility, and the thoughtful use of emerging technologies, such as generative AI.
Alongside this, I place a strong emphasis on collaborative leadership. I believe that successful digital education is not just about systems and tools, but about creating the conditions for people to do their best work — building confidence, capability and a shared sense of purpose.
