Candy is an Assistant Professor at the School of Mathematics. Previously, she was Research Fellow supported by a Leverhulme Trust Early Career Research Fellowship working on 'Large structures in hypergraphs'. She is a member of the combinatorics group, and her research interests lie in extremal and probabilistic combinatorics, with a particular focus on problems in extremal (hyper)graph theory.

Qualifications

  • DPhil in Mathematics, University of Oxford.
  • MSci in Mathematics, University of Birmingham.

Biography

Prior to her Leverhulme ECF, Candy was a postdoctoral research fellow at the University of Warwick, working with Richard Montgomery. She completed her DPhil (PhD) at the University of Oxford, under the supervision of Peter Keevash.

Teaching

  • LH/LM Graph Theory (Semester 1)

Postgraduate supervision

Candy is interested in supervising PhD students in combinatorics. If you are interested, please get in touch.

Research

Candy’s research interests lie in combinatorics, with a focus on extremal and probabilistic (hyper)graph theory. Much of Candy’s research focuses on embedding and decomposition problems, searching for large, often spanning, structures in classes of graphs and hypergraphs.
