Jo Maguire

Jo sees engineering as problem solving: from figuring out what kind of paving to use on a carpark, to finding someone's phone number. She chose to study and follow a career in civil engineering as it effects every aspect of day-to-day life, every one today has had contact with some kind of engineering!

Her greatest inspiration while at the University was her lecturers. Jo also loved the sense of freedom: the freedom to try new things and write your own future.

“For those considering studying civil engineering I'd say do it!! Because it's amazing! I absolutely love engineering, especially civil. I think it's such a rewarding area to study and it's so varied as to what you can do with it. That kind of stuff is just...amazing!”
