Developing Inclusive Outreach Activity: Lessons learnt from community engagement experts BLAST

Location
metallurgy and materials (GC13)
Dates
Wednesday 25 October 2023 (13:00-14:00)

Join Dr. Leah-Nani Alconcel from the School of Metallurgy and Materials as she explores the process of putting together and delivering the UK Space Agency "Space For All" public engagement project.

The "Let's Move to the Moon!" space box activity was developed specifically to engage with school children. BLAST (Black in STEM) are a charitable, grassroots organisation with the aim of engaging with underserved communities and providing opportunities to participate in STEM enrichment activities. This is the story of how their involvement transformed both the project and our thinking about outreach and engagement.
