LGBTQ+ healthcare talk

Location

Dates
Monday 19 February 2024 (12:00-13:00)

The Rainbow Network is thrilled to welcome Dr Tara Suchak at the University of Birmingham as a part of LGBTQ+ History Month.

Dr Suchak is the clinical lead at 56 Dean Street, an NHS sexual health and HIV clinic that is well-known for their exceptional work in supporting the LGBTQ+ community. Additionally, Dr Suchak is the Service Director for TransPlus, the first NHS integrated Gender, Sexual Health, and HIV service commissioned by NHS England. Following a successful trial phase, TransPlus has been commissioned on a long-term basis as an NHS gender dysphoria service.

Dr Suchak will deliver a talk on the services provided by the clinic and how they ensure that they are able to reach out to the LGBTQ+ community. Furthermore, she will discuss the challenges of setting up the gender dysphoria service.

This talk promises to be an intriguing opportunity to learn about how LGBTQ+ specific healthcare is established and to offer a chance to learn more about how we can ensure support for the LGBTQ+ communities.

This is a hybid event open to all.  Booking is required.
