In celebration of International Women’s Day, Professor Jo Duberley, Sheena Griffiths (Professional Services) and Pen Mendonca (Graphic Facilitator) embarked on an innovative collaboration to get a better understanding of the experiences that women have within the workplace and, in particular, to ask them to reflect on what stops and starts their careers.

As part of the work, seven focus groups were held with a wide range of staff the University, including women at senior and junior levels.

And now, to celebrate the Year of the Woman, the recurring issues, words of advice and recognition of positive impacts have been turned into thought-provoking graphics which are being shown as part of an exhibition – Careering Through Your Day – which will be located in the foyer of Muirhead Tower until 10th August.

Many of the images on display follow the metaphor of snakes and ladders to vividly illustrate both the challenges and opportunities that women experience in their everyday working lives.

Don’t miss your chance to see the exhibition! Visit the Careering Through Your Day exhibition online or in the foyer at Muirhead Tower.
