Friday 6 December 2013
From 13:30 to 17:00
In the year that celebrates the 100th anniversary of the birth of Rosa Parks and the 50th anniversary of the March on Washington for Jobs and Freedom when Martin Luther King gave his famous ‘I have a dream.’ speech, this Study Afternoon will include talks from expert lecturers from various universities. Students will also get the rare chance to see a fascinating display of artefacts connected with the civil rights movement to help them engage with the period.
This afternoon will be invaluable to students studying History of the USA options at AS or A2 level and of contextual interest to English Literature AS and A2 students who are studying texts which are set in this era.
