GREAT Scholarships 2023 - China and Pakistan

In partnership with the British Council and the GREAT Britain Campaign, University of Birmingham is offering two scholarships to students from China and Pakistan applying for postgraduate courses in the College of Arts and Law (Excluding Law LLM and MSc).

The GREAT Scholarships 2023 programme, launched by the British Council together with 49 UK universities, supports postgraduate students from Bangladesh, China, Egypt, Ghana, Kenya, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Mexico, Nigeria, Pakistan, Thailand, Turkey and Vietnam to access world-class UK higher education opportunities.

About the award

The scholarship programme offers financial support of £10,000 to students pursuing one-year postgraduate study in the UK. Students can apply for any programme in the College of Arts and Law (excluding LLM or MSc) for September 2023/24 entry.

Eligibility Criteria

 All applicants to this scholarship must:

  • Meet the academic conditions of their offer to the programme to retain the scholarship 
  • Be domiciled in Pakistan or China
  • Be classed by the University as an overseas fee payer for tuition fee purposes and be able to pay the outstanding tuition fees not covered by the scholarship
  • Have sufficient funds to cover the full cost of living at the University of Birmingham, plus any visa/travel expenses associated with studying in the UK
  • You must not be in receipt of any other scholarships or funding (University of Birmingham or external).

All applications are to be submitted by the form linked below. Please follow the guidelines for completing our scholarship application form. By applying for this scholarship, you are also automatically considered for any other scholarships within the college that you may be eligible for.
