We are delighted to host Professor Adam Tickell, Vice-Chancellor and Principal, in conversation with Professor Robin Mason, Pro-Vice-Chancellor (International) for an online event, happening on Monday 31 October, 20:00 – 21:00 HKT.

The event will provide a wonderful opportunity for Adam to reflect on his first ten months in post as Vice-Chancellor and Principal, alongside sharing his priorities for the coming year and his hopes for the future direction of the University. In his first year, he has seen many successes, including welcoming more than 175,000 spectators to our Edgbaston Campus as part of the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games, as well as the University receiving excellent REF results, which confirmed Birmingham’s position amongst the UK's top research universities.

We will also hear insights from Robin, who will give his own reflections on the University's flourishing strategic relationships across the Asia Pacific region. We are proud of our teaching partnerships across mainland China, Singapore and Malaysia, and of the philanthropic work of the Hong Kong Foundation, which Robin looks forward to speaking on at this event.

Following the discussion you will have the opportunity to ask questions about the University's plans and ambitions for the South East Asia region, alongside putting any questions to Adam about his experiences so far as Vice-Chancellor.
