Security Services

Helping you Stay Safe UB-SAFE

Security is an important aspect of University life.  Security Services provide a safe and secure environment for students, staff and visitors and ensure that the University is an enjoyable place to study, work and visit.

Keeping our community safe is very important.

We can all do our bit by remaining vigilant and reporting anything suspicious. Be alert to anything that seems odd, out of place, unusual, out of the ordinary or makes you feel concerned. You should never worry that it might turn out to be nothing.

If you report it, someone else can check it out. It may well be nothing, but it may also be something important. Call Security on 44444 or call the police on 101 or 999 if it’s an emergency. You can also call the anti-terrorist hotline on 0800 789 321.

If you see something, say something.

Security Services operate 24 hours a day all year around and provide many vital services for the University community.

We have 55 operational Security Staff who are all SIA Licensed and trained to a very high standard.

Security Services - Excellence in what we do.

Excellence in Security means redefining the traditional and often pejorative perception of security staff.  We provide a range of services that are essential for everyone's safety, security and peace of mind.  Security staff look after the assets of the estate 24/7 as well as providing a community policing role for what is effectively a small town.  Our services include responding profesionally to incidents and emergencies, crime prevention awareness and ensuring that for students particularly their experience here is positive and enjoyable.  Our staff are highly trained, well equipped, very motivated and resolute about providing you with a trouble free environment.
