Accounting and Finance

Accounting at Birmingham Business School has a history of academic excellence in both research and teaching that places it at the forefront of knowledge creation and dissemination, and has strong links accounting professional bodies and commercial, governmental and third sector organisations.

The University of Birmingham's Accounting and Finance Programmes is accredited by the ACCA.

Students successful completion of the Accounting and Finance degree will be eligible for exemptions from the accrediting professional bodies and will also be eligible for exemptions from Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) professional exams, the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW) and Chartered Institute of Public Finance and Accountancy (CIPFA).

Each body has their own assessment process but currently students taking the required modules can gain up to seven (7) exceptions from their professional exams. As the Dubai programme is directly comparable to the home programmes we expect students to gain similar exemptions.
