About the event

On Thursday, 18 July, we’re hosting a digital masterclass on ‘Uncovering Limitless Possibilities with Generative Art’, where creativity meets code. Over the past few decades, computer programmes have transformed many aspects of our daily lives. At one end, you find code that is written for critical products and services we use daily, such as banks, traffic enforcement, and identity recognition. On the other end, there is code written to make you smile or elicit joy and wonder. This is where code transcends its utilitarian function to evoke emotion, stimulate curiosity, and ignite the imagination. Although both involve creativity, one requires creativity for delivering efficient algorithms, while the latter is used as a medium to express the creative mind.

Join us on this exhilarating journey as we explore the transformative power of computer programming and AI in the realm of artistic creation. Together, we will embark on a voyage of exploration and discovery, where the boundaries between art and programming blur, and the possibilities for expression are limitless.

This masterclass will be presented by Dr. Sauleh Eetemadi, Assistant Professor of Computer Science at the University of Birmingham Dubai, and is open to anyone interested in generative art and computer programming.
