Join the University of Birmingham's Rainbow Network for our annual Black History Month celebration! This year we will be screening the film "The Watermelon Woman", a 1996 film about Cheryl, a young black lesbian trying to make a film about a black actress from the 1930s known as "the watermelon woman". This was the first feature film to be directed by a black lesbian (Cheryl Dunye, who also plays the lead role).

Staff, students, and community members welcome. Not suitable viewing for children - parental discretion advised.
