- Dates
- Wednesday 15 October 2025 (17:30-19:00)
To celebrate BHM, the UOB Race Equality network and B: Film are collaborating to show films aligned with "Standing Firm in Power and Pride".
"If Beale Street Could Talk” (based on James Baldwin’s 1974 novel) is a powerful film that the UoB Staff Race Equality Network and B:Film are delighted to show during Black History Month 2025.
The film highlights the resilience, love, and humanity of Black communities while confronting systemic racism and injustice in the United States. Set in 1970s Harlem, it tells the story of a young Black couple whose lives are upended by a wrongful arrest, exploring themes of family, perseverance, and the fight for justice—core issues at the heart of this year's theme of "Standing Firm in Power and Pride".
