A film screening supported by the UoB Staff Race Equality and Rainbow Networks, in collaboration with B:Film.

“Moonlight” (2016) is a groundbreaking, Oscar-winning film that powerfully explores the life of Chiron, a young Black man growing up in Miami. Through its three-part structure, the film examines the intersections of race, poverty, masculinity, and sexuality, offering a nuanced portrayal of Black life that is rarely depicted onscreen.

This screening of “Moonlight” serves to invite discussions about identity, community, and resilience, while amplifying underrepresented narratives within the broader tapestry of Black history and culture.
