Before printmaking was invented, the circulation of drawings or paintings was the only way to depict imagery of current events. Limited then to the wealthy and people in power, the invention of printmaking started to tip the balance! Inspired by the current exhibition, Dürer: The Making of a Renaissance Master, join artist Laura Onions for a hands-on workshop exploring lino cutting and relief printmaking techniques.

Enjoy an exhibition introduction, learn how Albrecht Dürer kept up with the popular culture of his time through printmaking and create your contemporary compositions with inspiration and guidance from Laura.

This workshop will take place at the Barber Institute of Fine Arts, open to those 18 and over. No experience necessary, and all materials will be provided.

Laura Onions is an artist based in the West Midlands. She is a lecturer in Fine Art with a focus on print at the University of Wolverhampton.
