Each year ISIRC brings together the international academic community focusing on social entrepreneurship, enterprise and innovation.

Registration now open:

Conference registration for ISIRC is now open and should be made through the University of Birmingham Online Shop

The fee is £390 for this three day event or £340 for those presenting. We would advise booking as soon as possible as places are limited. Booking will close on 5 September.

On Wednesday 12 September we will announce the winner of the best paper award at our reception and BBQ evening. Tickets for this event can also be booked through the Online Shop, as above.

ISIRC has received paper submissions from six continents and more than 30 countries. Confirmed plenary speakers include:

  • Dr Alex Nicholls, Oxford University: The Politics of Social Innovation: An International Comparison.

The call for papers has now closed. Those who have been successful should submit full papers (no longer than 9,000 words) to ISIRC@tsrc.ac.uk on or before 24 August 2012.

The conference organisers are also editing a special issue of International Journal of Public Sector Management under the theme: Social innovation and public services in an era of austerity. Details of the call for papers can be found here.

This year Birmingham will also host the NCVO / VSSN Researching the Voluntary Sector Conference, making this potentially the largest gathering of civil society researchers ever in the UK.
